Per Pete O'Rourke of Sky Sports, Freddy Adu is training with Blackpool of The Championship, England's second division. This Daily Mail story published a few hours after that tweet got many Blackpool fans down from the ledge. The article claims that Freddy is a friend of Barry Ferguson, Blackpool's caretaker manager, and that there is little to no chance of Adu actually signing with the English club.

Faryd Mondragon was in goal for Deportivo Cali as they won the Superliga Colombiana, a competition that pits the Colombian Apertura and Clausura winners against each other. Heading into the second leg of the final, Cali held a 2-1 lead over Atlético Nacional, but Jefferson Duque's 28th minute goal forced extra time, and, eventually, penalties. Cali won the tournament, which was created in 2012, for the first time, after winning 4-3 in the round of spot kicks.

Kai Herdling has signed a new contract which will keep him at Hoffenheim until 2016. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season. (h/t Kessler)

Ives is reporting that Michael Farfan hasn't been playing for Cruz Azul due to transfer paperwork issues.

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have signed goalkeeper Oka Nikolov, formerly of the Union. Oka cited the team's history as a reason for signing. He will turn 40 in May.
