The Harrisburg City Islanders fell at the first hurdle as the USL PRO playoffs kicked off tonight. The Charlotte Eagles' Jorge Herrera was tonight's star notching two assists and a goal. A bland fist half saw both teams end the half goalless. The second half started eventfully with Islander midfielder Jason Pelletier seeing yellow within the first minute. The remainder of the match was just as eventful, with Harrisburg racking up four cards, most importantly two for defender Stephen Basso in the 81st minute.
Philadelphia Union loanees, Greg Jordan and Jimmy McLaughlin both saw the field tonight with Jordan playing the full 90 mins in defense. McLaughlin, usually touted as the more talented of the two, saw just 15 minutes along side lone Islander goalscorer, and former Union trialist, and RecklessChallenge's USL Team of the YEAR forward Lucky Mkosana.
The Islanders improved 2 places from last season and finished 4th in the USL PRO regular season standings.
