Alajuelense played a hell of a game, but still lost to Sporting San Miguelito 0-1. The Costa Rican side were extremely dangerous for the full 90 minutes, but San Miguelito 'keeper Alex Rodriguez would not let LDA imPEDe (so, so sorry) the Panamanian club's CCL run. With Club América being the third club in the group, Alajuelense's campaign may have ended before it even began. Also, Porfirio Lopez doesn't deserve to play for a team this entertaining.
Deportivo Cali lost to, before their win at least, cellar-dwellers Atlético Huila on Wednesday night. You can see Faryd Mondragón assessing the blame in the video below.
Freddy Adu came on in the 65th minute as E.S. Bahia defeated Portuguesa 2-1 on the road in the first leg of the second stage of the Copa Sudamericana (and breath). This was Adu's first appearance in months, and his performance did nothing to prove his manager wrong. The Copa Sudamericana is basically CONMEBOL's Europa League. If Bahia advances to the knockout stages, they'd likely face Atlético Nacional of Colombia first. Oh, and he's fat now (still).

Justin Mapp had the night off as Montreal lost to CCL newcomers C.D. Heredia. The Guatemalan club won their first ever game in the CONCACAF Champions League thanks to a 88th minute goal from Charles Cordova. Heredia now leads a group containing two MLS clubs: Montreal and San Jose.
Brian Perk (concussion) and Chandler Hoffman (coach's decision) didn't dress for LA's 2-0 CCL win over Cartaginés.
Andrew Jacobson missed FCD's Wednesday night due to injury, while Chris Seitz sat on the bench. Gabe Farfán had to sit out due to a suspension issued as a result of his nasty tackle on Colorado's Shane O'Neill. Dallas won 3-1, pulling them level with the Caps on points, but the Texas club still remains on the outside of the playoff picture.
