It's time for the annual mid-season friendly against a European team! This year's game against Stoke City actually has a bit of interest for local U.S. soccer fans. Stoke City carry on their team Geoff Cameron, Maurice Edu, and Brek Shea, all of whom have made caps for the USMNT. Most recently, Brek Shea appeared in multiple CONCACAF Gold Cup games and even scored the game-winning goal in the Final. Outside of that, Stoke City under Tony Pulis infamously parked the bus against much of their Premier League opposition, often creating for some rather dull affairs. But Pulis got sacked in the off-season and was replaced by Mark Hughes, who was sacked last year by Queens Park Rangers and many other clubs in years prior.

Another notable player on Stoke City is former Liverpool and Tottenham forward Peter Crouch, easily to spot on the pitch as he is the guy most definitely taller than you.
