Meet The Opposition: Sounder At Heart
The Philadelphia Union are playing host to a Seattle Sounders team currently last in the Western Conference in points per game. The Sounders will try to control possession and take advantage of the Union's weak midfield in order to secure for them what would be a much needed three points. For the Union, their three wins have come against weak opposition, and given the current set-up of the Eastern Conference, would do very well to pick up three more against another weak opponent. In order to do this, they will need much improved midfield play to compliment their overall sound defense that has too often been left hung out to dry.
Philadelphia Union starting XI: (4-4-2) Zac MacMath; Raymon Gaddis, Jeff Parke, Amobi Okugo, Sheanon Williams; Brian Carroll, Keon Daniel, Michael Farfan, Danny Cruz; Jack McInerney, Conor Casey
Philadelphia Union bench: Chris Konopka, Gabriel Farfan, Kleberson, Michael Lahoud, Antoine Hoppenot, Sebastien Le Toux, Aaron Wheeler
Seattle Sounders starting XI: (4-1-4-1) Michael Gspurning; Leonardo Gonzalez, Djimi Traore, Jhon Kennedy Hurtabo, DeAndre Yedlin; Osvaldo Alonso; Lamar Neagle, Alex Caskey, Brad Evans, Mauro Rosales; Eddie Johnson
Seattle Sounders bench: Marcus Hahnemann, Patrick Ianni, Zach Scott, Eriq Zavaleta, Mario Martinez, Andy Rose, David Estrada
Prediction: The Seattle Sounders have gotten off to an awful start, and hopefully that will continue today. Union win 2-1.
