Meet The Opposition: The Daily Wiz
After the eminent disaster that was last season, the Philadelphia Union come into this season with a new sense of hope. Coming off their first off-season without the eminently detestable Peter Nowak, the Union made some reasonable acquisitions, although questions at the back certainly still remain. The Union's first task is not going to be an easy one, though, as they are hosting last season's regular season Eastern Conference champions.
Philadelphia Union starting XI: (4-2-3-1) Zac MacMath; Raymon Gaddis, Jeff Parke, Amobi Okugo, Sheanon Williams; Michael Lahoud, Brian Carroll; Gabriel Farfan, Michael Farfan, Keon Daniel; Sebastien Le Toux
Philadelphia Union bench: Chris Konopka, Roger Torres, Danny Cruz, Jack McInerney, Conor Casey, Bakary Soumare, Antoine Hoppenot
Sporting Kansas City starting XI: (4-2-1-3) Jimmy Nielsen; Seth Sinovic, Matt Besler, Aurelien Collin, Chance Myers; Oriol Rosell, Paulo Nagamura; Benny Feilhaber; Bobby Convey, Claudio Bieler, Graham Zusi
Sporting Kansas City bench: Eric Kronberg, Mechack Jerome, Ike Opara, Josh Gardner, Peterson Joseph, Soony Saad, C.J. Sapong

Prediction: I want to be optimistic, and while I do think the Union will have a much better season in 2013 than they did in 2012, I do am not confident about this one. The Union will show good, though. Sporting Kansas City win 2-1.
