Disney Pro Soccer Classic Game Thread: Live Video, Discussion Of Philadelphia Union Vs. Columbus Crew

New, 14 comments

The Philadelphia Union will play against Eastern Conference opponent the Columbus Crew in the team's second game of the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic.

A 1-1 tie with Orlando City SC put the Union on their back foot in the competition and today's game may not produce a better result for Philadelphia, as head coach John Hackworth revealed in his latest "The Final Whistle" that he plans on starting his backups for 60 minutes, with starters participating for the remaining 30 minutes of the game.

However, the backups were actually impactful in their short stint on the field against Orlando, something that could not be said of a bland Union starting X11 in the first half. Supplemental draft pick (fourth round) Leo Fernandes slotted home a sublime pass by Roger Torres to bring the Union level with Orlando and the subs overall had a good outting.

The game kicks off at 1 pm EDT.
