- 00:26 - Carlos Valdes runs up and strikes a hard free kick that dips in front of D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid, who is able to parry the shot to his right. A Union follow up is cleared off the line by Daniel Woolward, before Gabriel Farfan blasts it wide of the net.
- 00:36 - Hamid makes a bad decision on a pass and Freddy Adu picks up on the loose ball. The attacking midfielder cuts in from the top right of the box and curls one that doesn't find the net, but makes Hamid think twice the next time he gets the ball on his foot.
- 00:49 - Brian Carroll picks up a bad touch by a United player at the top of DC's box and shoots. His attempt is deflected and slowly goes past Hamid, who was sent the wrong way on the play. It's Carroll's second goal in US Open Cup play, the first last year against United as well at the Soccerplex.
- 01:03 - Andy Najar receives the ball about 25-yards out on the right side of the field and sends in a high, curling cross. Nick DeLeon meets the cross at the far posts and heads it across the goal mouth, providing Josh Wolff with an easy headed goal past a diving Zac MacMath.
- 01:34 - MacMath makes a big save on Maicon Santos, who tries to put one past the former University of Maryland star from the top of the 18.
- 01:41 - Antoine Hoppenot, who was brought in as a substitute, nearly wins the game in the final minutes of regulation time, but Hamid stonewalls him inside of the six.
- 01:52 - Adu sends a beautiful lefty through ball to Hoppenot about 30-yards from goal. The pass cuts through two United defenders and gives Hoppenot the ability to run behind ever and go one-on-one with Hamid. The rookie forward takes a quick shot and beats United's goalkeeper to give the Union a 2-1 lead in extratime.
- 02:04 - A long range attempt is saved by MacMath. The second-year goalkeeper manages to tip the hard shot over the crossbar.
- 02:06 - A bit of the brawl that ensued in extratime is shown, as are the red cards to Brandon McDonald and Carlos Valdes.
- 02:20 - The game is over and the Union shake hands with the Sons of Ben members and other Philadelphia fans that made the trip to the game.
