00:36 - Seattle takes a corner at 6:52 into the game. The corner is headed deep into the box toward Fredy Montero, who manages to kick it on target, but Union rookie right back Raymon Gaddis cleared it off of the line.
00:58 - The ball is sent to the right side of the Union 18, then crossed into the six. The ball bounces underneath the onrushing David Estrada, who accidentally knees Philadelphia goalkeeper Zac MacMath in the head. The ball is cleared out of the box, but then is called back for a Union freekick after the foul. MacMath is currently listed as out with concussion symptoms.
02:00 - Andy Rose is given a yellow card for a reckless challenge. The rookie midfielder left his boot high on a tackle attempt on Michael Farfan and nicked the leaping Union player's right foot.
02:29 - Mauro Rosales receives a long ball down the right line that beats an overly aggressive Gaddis. The veteran Argentine playmaker then creates some space and feeds a teammates along the top of the box. A cross is sent slightly behind Montero in the box, who still is able to head the ball on target. MacMath positions himself well and saves the attempt.
03:19 - Alex Caskey gets the ball about 35-yards from goal and lets it rip. The ball goes off of the outside of his foot and splices just wide.
03:54 - Rose tackles Freddy Adu from behind and tangles up his legs. Ricardo Salazar chooses to not card him a second time, a controversial decision.
04:28 - High pressure from the Sounders leads to Caskey taking the ball from Williams. The midfielder then tries another long range effort, this time from about 25-yards out. This time MacMath is forced into an excellent save.
04:57 - A header from inside of the box, after a corner, by the Sounders flies off of the cross bar. The Union are lucky not to be down a goal.
05:26 - The next highlight shows the Union going down a goal, as Mauro Rosales slots home from the right side of Philadelphia's 18 after a sublime pass from Montero.
06:15 - Montero is fed through the center of the field and is able to stretch both Danny Califf and Carlos Valdes, opening up room for Caskey in the box. The wide open midfield mishits the ball completely and it weakly rolls away.
07:00 - Montero once again gets the ball to his feet in the center of the field, this time at the top of the box. Eddie Johnson feeds the Colombian striker, who squares to the goal and shoots. The ball curls and hits the top of the right side post.
07:35 - The referee whistles and the game is over, a 1-0 defeat for the Union.
