  • 0:54 - Ryan Smith sends a dangerous cross into the Philadelphia Union's box. Gabriel Farfan kicks the ball out to around the 30.
  • 1:04 - Michael Farfan tears apart the Chivas USA defense and places a low ball across the goal mouth toward a waiting Freddy Adu. The former United States Men's National Team midfielder receives the ball off of a poor slide tackle by James Riley and backheels the ball - off of the left post - into the net to give the Union a 1-0 lead.
  • 2:04 - Smith curls in a freekick from the right side of the box to an on rushing Alejandro Moreno, who puts it a few feet wide of Zac MacMath and the Union's goal.
  • 2:37 - Michael Farfan fights for possession of the ball around 25 yards from the Chivas goal and tries to place a shot to the middle of the left side of the net. Dan Kennedy does well to save the shot and push towrd the outside of the box.
  • 3:20 - Miller Bolanos whips in a long, curling cross from southeast of the Union's box. Juan Pablo Angel, who had been substituted onto the field earlier in the second half, gets his head to the cross, but fails to do put his attempt on goal.
  • 3:54 - Keon Daniel tries to take back possession of the ball with a slide tackle, but catches Moreno with his studs around the Chivas stirker's right ankle. Daniel is sent off, a straight red for the reckless action.
  • 4:45 - Nick LaBrocca tries a long range effort and it just keeps rising.
  • 5:14 - Gabriel Farfan has two straight questionable challenges, including one for which he receives a red card. Farfan was judged to have gone in recklessly with a two footed, studs up tackle on Riley.
  • 5:21 - Benches clear, teams come together after the Gabriel Farfan challenge. Union head coach Peter Nowak enters the field and joins in the mosh pit. He is ejected for his actions. Players shove each other and act out in other ways, but only Farfan and Nowak receive any cards for what transpires.
  • 7:19 - Blair Gavin drags a shot from right to left and manages to put his 22-yard effort right at MacMath. Easy save.
  • 7:44 - Game is called by the referee and the Union get their first road win of the season, which is only their second win overall in 2012.
