Chelsea will play a game in Philadelphia as part of its American summer tour, ESPN Soccernet reported.

The Philadelphia Union have been linked to a friendly with Newcastle United for a summer friendly, and reports out of Costa Rica have said that the team will also host Deportivo Saprissa in the coming months, making Chelsea a possible third friendly this year. Chelsea would be the third, or fourth depending on whether or not a Newcastle friendly is played, English team to play a friendly against the Union.

However, Philadelphia also will host the 2012 MLS All-Star Game, making Chelsea a possible opponent of the league's best players on July 25 at PPL Park. In the past, fellow English Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and West Ham have played MLS in All-Star games.

The London side will also visit Washington, D.C. (home of DCU United), New York City (Yankee Stadium) and Seattle (home of the Seattle Sounders) while tuning up in the United States for its 2012-2013 season.
