The Philadelphia Union revealed today who the television and radio talent will be for the 2012 MLS season.
JP Dellacamera is set to return for his third season as the Union's play-by-play announcer, and Bob Rigby has replaced the departed Taylor Twellman at broadcast analyst. The announcement confirms the Brotherly Game's report from February that Rigby was promoted from sideline reporter to color commentator.
Joining Dellacamera and Rigby will be Keith Russell, a 6abc anchor, for games not on the Comcast Network or Comcast SportsNet (CSN). Those games will have a rotating cast of former soccer pros performing the sideline reporter duties, according to the Union.
CSN's "State of the Union" program will once feature Amy Fadool as host, and Rigby as analyst, with the Philadelphia Daily News' Kerith Gabriel as another analyst.
Philadelphia will also debut a radio program, along with possible live calls of games this season. The weekly show has been titled "The 90th Minute" and will be hosted by Gabriel and Carl Cherkin. Ives Galarcep, founder of Soccer by Ives, will have a segment on the show.
Tony Limarzi, who previously had play-by-play roles with D.C. United and the University of Maryland, will play some role in radio broadcasts of games, but his exact job was not defined in the announcement.
