Agent: Union Haven't Contacted Us Recently To Pursue Armani Loan

The acquisition of Sebastien Le Toux has stalled the team's approach for Leandro "Beto" Armani, the Brotherly Game has learned.

Nikos Petropolus of ALFA Management, told the Brotherly Game that the Union have not talked to him about his client recently, which has left open a possible move to clubs in Argentina and Chile.

"There are two clubs, one from Argentina and another in Chile that seek [Armani]," Petropolus said. "Union have not communicated with us."

A week ago, Petropolus said to the Brotherly Game that he and Armani were simply waiting on the Union to table a bid for the striker to come on loan, hinting that they were essentially expecting it to happen.

"Beto is very excited to play in MLS. We are waiting for the Unión to make a decision and give an offer," Petropolus said at the time.

Tiro Federal and the agent had hammered out a loan fee of $50,000 for any deal that would send Armani out of Rosario, the home of his current club.

Armani was originally linked to the Union when John Hackworth, Philadelphia's head coach, and Ricardo Ansaldi, Director of International Player Development, were on a scouting trip of Argentina and other countries in South America. Hackworth went on to say to Dave Zeitlin, of MLSsoccer.com, that the club had singled out a few South American players as potential transfer targets.
