Lionard Pajoy is all but an official Philadelphia Union player, according to Itaqui Ditaire's President.
Jose Fernando Salazar told Golcaracol that Pajoy is headed to Philadelphia to play in MLS in 2012. A contract has been signed and only obtaining a P-1 visa is holding up the transfer from becoming official. According to Antena 2, Pajoy's contract with the Union is for one year, with no indication of there being additional option years.
In the midst of Sebastien Le Toux to Bolton Wanderers rumors came an article stating that Pajoy had signed with the Union. Kerith Gabriel, of the Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com, looked into Colombian media outlet and was able to corroborate the news of the signing of Pajoy through a source.
The 30-year-old scored 10 goals for Itagui last year, tying his brother John in scoring. Ditaires were the seventh team in Pajoy's eight year career, during which he has never left Colombia.
