Former Philadelphia Union President Tom Veit Joins WWE As Senior Vice President

Tom Veit, who stepped down from his position of President of the Union four months ago, has joined World Wrestling Entertainment as a Senior Vice President of Live Events.

Despite rejoining the team as a consultant to CEO and President Nick Sakiewicz shortly after leaving his position, Veit moved on to the WWE. His job will pertain to the "ticket sales, event marketing and booking" for the wrestling organization.

An interesting note in all of this is that Veit was supposed to be the main negotiator from the Union in talks with Villanova about playing at PPL Park. The Philadelphia Daily News' Kerith Gabriel discussed that role back in November:

From Tampa, Veit will act as a liaison for the Union in upcoming and ongoing deals, most notably talks of bringing Villanova football to PPL Park, the Union's 18,500-seat facility in Chester.

Veit's role with the Union as president entailed "the creation, development, and operation of all business activities for the launch of the stadium and team."
