WATCH: Alberg's blast doubles the lead

The man can score goals. 17 minutes after coming off the bench, Roland Alberg has scored his seventh goal of the season and put the game beyond doubt. What a goal it was, too. After initially holding off two Sounders in the corner, Alberg dribbled to the edge of the box before lashing the ball on net. Stefan Frei got a hand on it, but could only send it off the far post and in.

WATCH: Epps gives Union the lead

Marcus Epps was only added to the starting lineup moments before kickoff, but he didn't appear the slightest bit unprepared. The rookie, who benefitted from Chris Pontius's pre-game abdomen injury, found the net in the 28th minute. After picking up a wonderful ball from Ilsinho, the right-footed winger took a few touches before finishing with his left. The goal is his second of the season.

WATCH: Sapong's record-tying goal

After two goals from Chris Pontius, CJ Sapong has joined the party. The center forward tapped home a cross from Fabinho to tie the Union's single-season scoring record (14) set by Sebastien Le Toux in 2010. The three-goal lead didn't last for long, though, as Luis Solignac pulled one back for Chicago just three minutes later.

WATCH: Pontius scores his second

+

After going nearly a year without scoring an MLS goal, Chris Pontius now has two on the night. This one came off a rebound, as the winger cleaned up Matt Lampson's spilled save. Fafa Picault took the initial shot, which Lampson blocked but couldn't gather, allowing Pontius to follow it up.

WATCH: Pontius's first has Union ahead

It took 30 games, but Chris Pontius finally has his first goal of 2017. It came just 10 minutes into the game, when Keegan Rosenberry's left-footed cross found Pontius in the center of the box. He connected with it after some impressive acrobatics, nodding it past Chicago Fire goalkeeper Matt Lampson.

WATCH: Yaro sent off for DOGSO

+

The Union were reduced to ten men in the 53rd minute, when Josh Yaro earned a straight red card for bringing down Josef Martinez. After being beaten for pace by Martinez, the center back pulled down the Atlanta striker with both hands. Since Martinez would have been in one-on-one with Blake had the foul not been committed, referee Drew Fischer had no choice but to send off Yaro for denial of a goalscoring opportunity.

WATCH: Bedoya makes it two for the Union

+

Shortly after Roland Alberg scored the game's first goal, Alejandro Bedoya has added another. Roland Alberg took the corner that started the sequence, and Jack Elliott kept the play alive, flicking Alberg's service into the path of Bedoya. The midfielder contorted himself to connect with the ball, sending it past a fooled Brad Guzan and into the far side-netting. The goal is Bedoya's second with the Union, and his first during the regular season.

WATCH: Alberg opens up the scoring

The Union are off to an early lead against Atlanta United thanks to the work of two Dutchmen. In the 18th minute, Giliano Wijnaldum and Roland Alberg combined to beat Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan. After the visiting back line failed to adequately clear a cross from Keegan Rosenberry, Wijnaldum lofted a beautiful ball into the path of Alberg, who had plenty of time to finish. The goal is Alberg's sixth of the season, making him the team's second-highest scorer.

WATCH: Ilsinho and Sapong combine for Union's third

+

Sapong's got his second goal of the night, and once again it's thanks to Ilsinho's quick feet. The center forward initially set up Ilsinho, whose shot hit Seitz right in the hands. Fortunately for him, it spilled right back out, and he got to the ball quickly enough to slide it right over to Sapong. Ilsinho's season assist tally is now at three, while CJ sits third in the Golden Boot race with 12.

WATCH: Ilsinho's volley doubles the lead

Just moments after setting up the Union's opener, Ilsinho's got one of his own. His thumping volley blew past Seitz, whose attempt at a save came way too late.
