A month after coming away with two wins and a draw in Conshohocken, the Union settled another Delco Derby with rival club FC Delco last Saturday. Only this time the matches would take place at the YSC Sports Complex in Wayne. While the Under 14s rolled over the opposition once again, the other two units faced tough battles in their quest to qualify for the Developmental Academy playoffs at the end of June.
U17/18s
The Under 18s suffered a small setback in their playoff hunt, drawing 1-1 (as they did a month ago) with Continental FC Delco at home Saturday morning. Mohammed Conde scored an equalizer after a Chris Gomez own goal put the Union a goal down in the first half. Union's U17/18s now sit 4 spots below the wild card line with six matches left to play. The Union travel down to Virginia Beach next weekend to play the Virginia Rush, a team that the Under 18s drew 1-1 back in October.
U15/16s
After suffering their first red card of the season, the Under 16s could only manage a 1-1 draw after defeating FC Delco 2-1 last month. Conor Bradley scored the lone Union goal with a header thanks to a Kevin Carvalho free kick. The Under 16s still sit comfortably in the middle of the playoff wildcard pool, and the team will not have another league match until the 26th of April against Baltimore Bays Chelsea.
This week's highlight reel features U18 attacker Doyle Tuvesson, who racked up 5 assists against the Richmond Kickers and Richmond Strikers on the weekend of March 29-30. Tuvesson has 2 goals on the season in 12 appearances.
U13/14s
The Under 14s got back to their regularly scheduled program of overwhelming their opposition, trouncing FC Delco by a 5-0 scoreline. Five different players scored a goal for the Union, who soundly defeated FC Delco last month 7-0 last month. The youngest DOOPers will travel alongside their Under 18 counterparts to Virginia Beach to play the Virginia Rush next weekend.
