Local who went to the match-
Held in the large Everbank stadium, they only sold tickets on one side. Rough estimate of 8,000 or so. Very quiet crowd, unlike previous USMNT/USWNT friendlies.
First half was extremely slow. Very conservative play with teams clogging up the middle. Union tried playing the occasional long ball. Union had the possession edge. But if they were trying to "sell" fans, the first half was basically a snoozefest save for one rush where the Impact keeper came out of the box to play a ball to the near side, was caught in no man's land and received a yellow. A Union player did "score" later but the flag was up.
Second half was more exciting. Union had several scoring chances but couldn't punch it in.75th minute the bench was emptied and the second teamers played with a lot of energy,
Nil-Nil draw final.
Players who stood out were: They seemed to be very righthanded with 25 (WIlliams) bringing it up to send 44 (Cruz). 15 (Farfan) had a strong game also. Union keepers really weren't tested to the point that a great save was necessary.
