Contrary to what many of your readers think there is " soccer life after 30" . If you don't believe me ask Connor Casey. Philly needs to take another calculated risk and reach out to a few 30 skilled year olds like they did with Casey last year. Do your job front office and create some cap space.
Chris Rolfe, striker/attacking midfielder
Rolfe is a 30 year old skilled attacking midfielder/ forward. His current $250,000 salary could be renegotiated but Philly should match his current salary to guarantee he comes happily to Philly. He should definitely be targeted by Hackworth to add the creative midfielder they have lacked since the Union came into the league.
Joel Lindpere, midfielder
Lindpere is a crafty 32 year old productive veteran who is now healthy and brings a great work ethic and creative skills. He has good vision, touch and the passing ability to find Jack and the others on the right side of the field. . He is versatile and can play left midfield and centrally if needed. Lindpere was productive player at the Red Bulls who was hampered by injury the first half of 2013. He could be acquired for well under 200K.
Age 30 is a skilled and creative attacking central midfielder that was played sparingly because of an ACL tear that was not repaired in 2012. He stopped playing in August of 2013 to repair the ACL. If he is healthy and recovered he would be a nice addition to the attack at midfield. He could be acquired for well under 200 K. People do recover from injuries. Colorado made the mistake of writing off Casey who was the MVP for Philly this year.
