Review of 2013 Performance – Michael Farfan was maddeningly inconsistent in the 2013 season. Some may argue that it was because he was often times deployed as more of a central/attacking midfielder as opposed to his natural right midfield position. However the fact remains that despite Farfan’s stats not being all that good, he is consistently named as one of MLS’ best up and coming young players, but last season he didn’t always perform up to that lofty standard.
Expectations for 2014 – 2014 should be the make or break year for Michael Farfan. While he shouldn’t be expected to have a massive amount of goals or assists he needs to show improvement. It would be nice to see him score another goal like this one against D.C. United in 2011. If he continues with his lackluster play in 2014, the Union may start thinking about trading or releasing him.
