Just wanted to start a conversation on Fantasy MLS Manager.
Does anyone else play on the official website or another website such as MFLS.com?
So far I'm a pretty big fan of the improvements made to the official MLS game. Last year's version was cool with the drafting of players, but I do like the traditional salary based way to play as well. It is nice that they added more ways to score. In the past I had a few players with negative points, and it was difficult for defensive players to contribute.
The transfer rules are a good feature, and I like the idea of having one wildcard for unlimited transfers. One thing I would change about the transfers is how players are valuated. For instance, Josue Martinez started the season being rated at $8 million and has only dropped to $7.9 million. This seems too small of a drop for his lack of production. If players such as Martinez dropped further in value, it make it more likely for people to pick them up if they had a good week or two. Instead, you see a lot of "cookie-cutter" lineups based on some of the best performing players because their prices don't fluctuate fast enough.
I'd say some of my go-to players are YP Lee, Sene, Donovan, and surprisingly Corey Ashe.
Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone else on tBG is playing. Feel free to post positives/negatives about the game, thoughts for improvement, favorite players, or where you rank in the official Philadelphia Union league. Maybe we can start up a tBG league next year (I prefer the head to head style).
