A report put out by a site in SB Nation's soccer community said that the Bolton Wanderers may play a friendly in Harrisburg this summer.
Lion of Vienna Suite was informed that the Wanderers and the Harrisburg City Islanders, the Philadelphia Union's USL-PRO affiliate, were discussing a deal to have the recently relegated English side travel to Pennsylvania in July.
As the Philadelphia Union ran riot on lower division Harrisburg City Islanders (5-2 in th e 83rd minute at the time of writing) in their US Open quarterfinal match-up, a bit of news emerged from a source that will be of interest to Bolton Wanderers fans. Apparently, the Trotters are in talks with USL Pro (third division) side Harrisburg City for a friendly match sometime in mid July.
Previously, a report from the Bolton News, an English outlet, stated that the Wanderers would travel to the United States to play in Philadelphia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The Union already have a busy schedule for the rest of the Major League Soccer calendar year and it was unlikely that they'd add another friendly, making the City Islanders the next team in line for such a game in the area.
