Timeline of a Revolving Door

COMMERCE CITY, CO - JUNE 04: Head coach Peter Nowak of the Philadelphia Union observes the national anthem prior to facing the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on June 4, 2011 in Commerce City, Colorado. Philadelphia Union CEO and Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz clarified in the press conference earlier this week that Peter Nowak was responsible for all personnel decisions during his reign. With nearly every journalist, blogger, tweeter, fan, or casual observer of the league scratching their heads over why he chose to part ways with the most successful and recognizable players on his young team, it's not a surprise his days were numbered.

Without a doubt, future managerial success and failure will be measured both in terms of record on the field and player movement. Whether or not John Hackworth will actually have absolute power (as Sakiewicz suggested), it is worth reflecting on the full range of moves Nowak made.

Hit the jump for a timeline of all draft selections, trades, signings, and cuts made by the former manager...

Listed below are the roster moves from 2009 to the present. I did not include loans to club affiliate Harrisburg City Islanders, as they have been frequent, typically short-term, and often unreported.
