The Philadelphia Union canceled Peter Nowak's weekly 1:30 p.m. press conference in favor of a 2:00 p.m. presser featuring only Nick Sakiewicz, the team's Managing Partner and CEO. The press conference is expected to announce the firing of Nowak and the promotion of John Hackworth to interim head coach.
According to a report by Kerith Gabriel, of the Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com, Nowak was out as Philadelphia Union head coach. The former Polish international came under fire this season for controversial trades of popular players and a disappointing 2-7-2 start to the season.
More on this, and the presser, as news comes in to the Brotherly Game (this will be updated during and after the press conference).
