Since the international break is going on and the MLS is in a bit of a lull I thought I might strike up a conversation about
the other side of American soccer, the national team. I am curious as to who your favorite players to watch in a U.S. jersey.
For me I'll name my top 2 and why.
Beyond the incredible season he has had for Fulham, I always enjoying watching him because he is a very raw player. Keep in mind when I saw raw I'm not talking about his playing, he is a very polished player, but I am talking about his attitude. The guy wears his heart on his sleeve and visible gives it all every game. His gruff persona combined with the fact that he can score from any place on the pitch with seemingly any part of his body makes him fun and exciting to watch.
As someone who did not begin following soccer until South Africa I had never heard of Michael Bradley. But as soon as I learned about him I realized how controversial he was, both with his play and the supposed nepotism from his father. Since then I have seen him play a few times for the U.S. and i just love the way he dominates the midfield. On defense he can muscle up to the best of them and on offense he can make some incredible passes. Having that versatility is great to watch.
So what about all of you? Who are your favorite players to watch for the national team?
