quick thoughts

- lots of Saturday 7pm matches.
-
June 30 — July 4 - July 8 looks tough, with matches in Houston and LA, followed by a home vs Toronto
-
I assume the long break late May to early June is an international block that has to be kept open for FIFA?
— Ending with NY at home is nice!

hmmm

Not sure why the strike-out text…

by Zherog on Jan 5, 2012 2:44 PM EST up reply actions

when you use – and write something, and then use it again i think it strikes it out.

by Rhayes on Jan 5, 2012 4:23 PM EST up reply actions

html quirk. Just use a single dash, not a double. Otherwise you turn on strikethrough text.

PPL Park will sell out no matter what, but the two teams that frequently struggle to put up more than 4-digit attendance numbers won’t see the Beckhams this year.

Confused

I swear the schedule I printed out from the Union website says that the game on August Fourth against Montreal is a Home game. Am I reading this right?

by philly77 on Jan 5, 2012 8:05 PM EST reply actions

I put the schedule into my calendar earlier (using the one on MLS’s site), and I have that game marked as an away game.

by Zherog on Jan 5, 2012 9:56 PM EST up reply actions

the unions site does have it listed as home, its vs not at

by Rhayes on Jan 6, 2012 5:23 AM EST up reply actions

but i would assume that we dont play them home twice, so one has to be away. must be a typo for them.

by Rhayes on Jan 6, 2012 5:25 AM EST up reply actions

Thanks Guys, I did some checking around and everywhere else had it listed as a away game. I thought it was strange we would play Montreal twice at home.

I’m happy about ny and dc home twice this year, but i think that we will get them twice away next year? I don’t like that

I’m guessing the NBC Sports deal pretty well makes the 6abc broadcasts a thing of the past.

by Wet Luzinski on Jan 9, 2012 10:13 PM EST reply actions

Considering the LiveWell games were taken by CSN, it was going to happen eventually.

CSN was clearly a better choice for the Union than 6abc locally, and the Comcast purchase of NBC, plus the subsequent acquisition of MLS TV rights by NBC, led to this outcome. Not a single fan will complain about it, since the production values have gone up drastically since the start of the 2011 season.
