Philadelphia Union 2012 MLS Preseason Schedule Update: YSC And Florida
While the Philadelphia Union have yet to confirm any part of their preseason schedule beyond a February 18 friendly against the Orlando City Lions, outside news sources have begun to reveal preseason dates.
The Union affiliated Youth Sports Complex (YSC) is the home of the beginning of the Union's 2012 MLS campaign. Mainline Media News reports that Philadelphia will train at the Wayne, PA based facility from January 24-28. Last year the Union opened up one of the team's training days at YSC to the public, which allowed bloggers to determine what players were trialing with the team.
Prior to playing Orlando City, the Union will face the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles in Orlando on February 11. The friendly is a part of Philadelphia's trip to Florida, which includes a stay in Orlando until February 19.
Past Union preseason appearances in Florida yielded less than desired results, including a loss to the Lions and a draw against the USMNT under-17 team.

Um, that Main Line Media News article is a recap of things that happened in 2011, not a report on the Union’s preseason plans in 2012… It’s a month-by-month review of the year (and it was published in December), and in January they mention the Union spending last year at YSC. Nothing about this year…
