O'Neill On Farfan: "Don't Read Too Much Into These Things"
Despite a non-sourced story from the Daily Mail stating otherwise, Michael Farfan is not a transfer target of Sunderland per the team's manager.
According to Roker Report, SB Nation's Sunderland site, Martin O'Neill, hired by Sunderland on December 3 in an attempt to save the team's season, addressed a reporter's question about Farfan's and trialist Alieu Darbo's statuses with the team. The former Nottingham Forest great informed the inquiring mind that he, and everyone else, should not "...read too much into these things." The discussion quickly moved onto other topics.
Farfan has been training with the Black Cats for just under a week, with his return date set for January 25, just in time for the Philadelphia Union's start to the preseason. The midfielder joins Freddy Adu, Zach Pfeffer, Zac MacMath and Amobi Okugo in the group Union players that have spent time in Europe training this offseason.
The 23-year-old was looking for a place to train during the offseason and the Union front office helped him find his way to England, according to a team source.

umm, did you tell Mr O’Neill that we kinda live for speculation like this during the off-season? What does he want us to do, watch the NBA?
He forgot since he's in the midst of his own transfer window as well.
