It’s been too long, hasn’t it? And now we get the pleasure of three in eight nights. Well… it’ll be a pleasure assuming the time off helps get them back in their previous form.

It has been awhile
I need to go find a link somewhere, else I am going to have to follow this through twitter, which is awesome that I can (you guys do a great job with that by the way) but isn’t nearly as satisfying as actually seeing the game. Maybe I can get it on radio. I will follow this match somehow.

If you can’t find any video, try ESPN 700 in Salt Lake City for audio.

thanks for the tip
sadly I couldn’t find an accessible network so i followed on twitter.

So Michael is listed as questionable?
But is getting the start in place of Gabe who is on the bench? Guess Nowak thought it was time for a change. Not a bad line up (like to see Okugo back in there) but freaking Migz and Nakazawa? damn those 2 are like leeches. I still think okugo could be of maximum value at DMF. Guess thats just my opinion. Torres over Nakazawa would be better as well IMO. Guess we will see how this line up fairs. Lets go Old Serb! Time to get some goals. DOOP!

It’s not on yet.
Here is another that is not on yet.

None are on yet because high school football is running late on TCN. Union probably have no idea what’s going on — they were sort of blindsided by this. Comcast only added the game this past Tuesday.

And this one might not end in time for kickoff at Rio Tinto. Joke.
Contributor at The Brotherly Game, SBN's Philadelphia Union blog
Nah, I take it back. It probably will end just about in time for kickoff. And the game started at 6, so it should have ended by 8:30 or so. Oh well.

Any particular reason the Union are wearing white tonight?
I don’t see how their home kits are in conflict with RSL’s red.

I can see the two dark colors being potentially confusing.

Can I just say being at school sucks when the Union are on a channel other than CSN and ESPN?
I live on campus and my school’s cable package does not pick up TCN. And they don’t have FSC on their package. So infuriating because I don’t like these feeds at all.

Think there are five more on TCN after this, I believe. :\
Contributor at The Brotherly Game, SBN's Philadelphia Union blog
It’s even harder for me being a Chelsea fan where every game except a few are on FSC or Fox Soccer plus, and those that are on FSC can’t be seen live on Fox Soccer’s online TV package. ESPN’s package is real limited with the EPL so even though they show Chelsea a lot for them, it is still not a lot in the grand scheme of things. Especially as ESPN does not touch the Champions League, FA Cup, or Carling Cup.
Once in a blue moon, CSN Philly/Root Sports Pittsburgh (not sure how I pick up both of these channels but I do) will show a FSC/Fox Soccer Plus Chelsea game, but if I get this once or twice a year, it is a minor miracle.

This is where having no depth is killing the team. Moving Williams to LB and playing M. Farfan at RB is pretty much awful.

This team is a joke
Wasn’t JDG brought in because of his ability to win balls in the air? He can’t possibly do worse than Migz
We could be looking worse than Arsenal by the end of this one.
This is ugly, and it would be uglier if not for Mondragon.
Writer at SB Nation's Philadelphia Union blog, The Brotherly Game. Follow me on Twitter.
The Union just don’t look good. I don’t know how else to put it. It’s like they’re just not as talented as the other team over the past month or so. They don’t win challenges, they don’t get to loose balls, they screw up the chances they get…
Contributor at The Brotherly Game, SBN's Philadelphia Union blog
Ruiz and Harvey probably have a lot to do with this. Michael Farfan at left back certainly is not helping matters.

Le Toux hit the shot first time off of a great cross from Mapp (yes, that Mapp) and Rimando couldn’t handle it. The ball flew into the net.

Nakazawa’s long freekick makes it into the box but no Union player gets on the end of it. Goal kick for RSL.

How they let fans shoot streamers at the net during a corner kick is unfathomable. Not only is it distracting, but it’s dangerous.

And the playoffs are slipping away…maybe the Union just greatly overachieved the the first half of the year?
I don’t think there’s any “maybe” about it. They ground out results, but I think it was clear that this team was never really “good.” But in a mediocre East, you can do alright playing tight defense and going for 1-0 wins.
