Mondragon Says Tuesday Or Wednesday Will Bring Juan Pablo Angel News
Faryd Mondragon once again tweeted about the Juan Pablo Angel situation, telling fans to get some sleep and wait for news about the striker later this week.
Mondragon had caused some confusion earlier in the day by tweeting about his "brother" possibly coming to play with the Philadelphia Union. Some discrepancy between the former Colombian international's Spanish and English seemed to indicate either his wish to have Angel in Philadelphia, or was actually hinting toward the striker being acquired by the Union.
Three hours later Mondragon followed up his tweets with yet another ambiguous comment, this time saying that news might come out in upcoming days about Angel and the Union.
Go to sleep everyone maybe Tuesday or Wednesday we will now yes or no #hoping is a YES DOOP!!!
Angel is in limbo because the Galaxy attempting to make room for Irish international Robbie Keane, who is set to join Los Angeles for $4.5 million-a-year.

Im glad someone from the organization is keeping us in the loop, Lord knows Novak would never… I think he needs to realize that releasing tidbits to the fan base every now and then isn’t going to destroy the world and could create a lot of goodwill in the long run. The information is going to come out one way or the other (we always know about things happening days before the press releases anyway) so why not be a little more forthcoming sometimes?

We're assuming Mondragon is in the know on this move because it's JPA...
but who knows if this’ll turn out to be the full situation.

Seriously?
Is there any sports team on the planet that keeps fans up to date on the details of ongoing negotiations?

Exactly
I think he’s confusing leaks and BS with actual news.
Yea there are..
GMs that are asked about specific players in regards to trades and FA moves from reporters at pressers generally acknowledge that SOMETHING is going on with Player A, or “We’ve been in contact with Player A’s agent”.. or at the very least we’re interested in bringing in a player at this position. My real gripe is that Novak gives little to no information at all even when asked directly and recently has been giving death stares to reporters for asking honest and predictable questions. Please don’t word your posts like I’m an idiot for asking for a little transparency from the FO a team I pay a lot of money to watch play week to week. The specific situation with JPA is one in which we hold all the cards and LA is in a jam to move him (if it is true that he said Philly or I retire, it gives us even more leverage) so I don’t think giving the fans some info, even a “Yes we’re in talks with him” is really that outrageous, no. Maybe you need to raise your expectations a little.

Also, isn’t it against the rules to discuss a player on another team in that manner?

You could stand to be a little less sensitive.
I agree that his acting like an ass during press conferences does no one any good, though.
As for JPA, it’s probably all down to what he’s willing to do. I assume to come here (or pretty much anywhere in MLS) he’d have to take a paycut and basically move on a free. If he’s interested in doing that, I don’t see why the Union wouldn’t be interested in giving him a shot here.

JPA
What options do the Galaxy have? If RK has signed, they must move JPA. I don’t know how MLS contracts work but I would presume they have to cut him (and pay him the remainder of his contract) or move him and send him to the team that will pay the highest portion of his remaining salary? Or he retires if he doesnt like the trade option?
Are those the options?
Of just get MLS to change their rules like they have in the past.
