After coming out flat in the first half and going down 2-0, the Union seemed completely doomed in the second half when right back Sheanon Williams was shown a controversial red card for arguing. Despite the huge disadvantage, the Union still managed to make it interesting in stoppage time, scoring a goal and forcing a great save by Rapids goalkeeper Matt Pickens.
