USA Vs Japan Game Thread - 2011 Women's World Cup Final TV, Time, Lineups And Other Info
The United States Women's National Team will play against Japan this afternoon in the 2011 Women's World Cup Final. Feel free to chat in the comments section below from now until the Philadelphia Union-New England Revolution game tonight.
Game Time: 2:45 pm Eastern (EST), with coverage beginning at 2 pm. A pre-match show will air at 1:30 pm.
TV: ESPN, ESPN3
Location: Frankfurt, Germany - Commerzbank-Arena is used in the German Bundesliga by Eintracht Frankfurt and is the location of the 2011 Women's World Cup Final game.
United States starting 11: Hope Solo; Ali Krieger, Christie Rampone, Rachel Buehler, Amy LePeilbet; Heather O'Reilly, Shannon Boxx, Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe; Abby Wambach, Lauren Cheney.
Buehler returns to the starting line up after sitting out the US' 3-1 win over France in the semi-finals. The veteran center back received a red card inside of the US box against Brazil, which lead to Brazilian star Marta's game tying penalty kick goal. Becky Sauerbrunn took over in her place versus the French women and helped the team into the Final.
Prediction:
As our friends at Black and Red United said in their own WWC article earlier today:
The USWNT has never lost to Japan, with a 22-0-3 all-time record, outscoring them 77-13. The U.S. is also undefeated (2-0) in World Cup Finals.
2-0 USA on the back of Wambach.

We're on to penalties.
There’s only so many times you can flirt with the PK gods before they fuck you over.
That was a game for the ages. Congrats to Japan.
