McInerney over Mwanga is a VERY interesting decision. Curious to see if it works.

And as always, I am disappointed that Nakazawa has started.

Nakazawa earned the spot after last week.

Can’t complain with last week’s midfield line up. It worked.

agreed he earned it, he played very well last week and showed us what the coaches have been saying for the whole season about him. He didnt show it the first few starts but we will see if that will carry over. As for McInerney starting over mwanga im wondering if its to just get him a chance to play while ruiz is out since he wasnt subbed much lately. Excited to see that.

Sure he looked good last week, but so did everyone. He’s looked poor pretty much every other game.

Form is form. Hot hands are going to get selected, sans Mwanga.

You mean Le Toux over Mwanga. Disappoints Le toux is starting. He better not take any free kicks. Let naka take them

by Boogs133 on Jun 4, 2011 8:31 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

I’ll never get the hype over his free kicks, they’re worse than LeToux’s, tbh. Let Ruiz or Torres take them, when they’re playing.

(and I swear this will be my last anti-Nakazawa post tonight! haha)

Naka shouldn't shoot FKs, but he's a deadly indirect FK taker.

That’s his strong suit, and it’s a weakness for almost everyone else on the Union. Won’t argue with his, or Le Toux’s, ability to shoot them though. Awful.

As for Le Toux over Mwanga, Le Toux is going to continue to play. He’s the person on the team with the most to lose from not being allowed to find his form. There will be a breaking point for Nowak, but it can’t be after he got two assists.

Broadcasting crew in a studio for tonight’s broadcast. Makes no sense, since JP called the Galaxy-DC match last night for Fox Soccer from Carson. They paid for him to literally fly over Colorado so he could get to a studio in Philadelphia?

Califf can’t do that tho. It will get called every time.

It was lame and Mastroeni wasnt in a goal scoring position but if you do anything in the box its a PK.

better yet – no shirt removal during celebration, which would have given him his 5th yellow & a mandatory game suspension

Califf arguing about the last call. He’s on the ground after the 50/50 but gets a foul call against him. USSF refs, always interesting.

SK said its because he was closest to the fan group so they decided to just BOO him

by Rhayes on Jun 4, 2011 10:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Posted up above what it's all about.

It’s a group of fans that chose to boo the closest Union player to them.

daniel is pretty good defensively, i dont understand the need to switch for a defensive midfield either.

by Rhayes on Jun 4, 2011 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh hey, look, the Union have lost all of their pressure and offense since Migz came on for Daniel. Dumb move.

Whistle blown. Union grab a draw on the road, controversial penalty given to Colorado for their goal. Mwanga with a screamer for the Union.

Ties are lame. It’s a shame Colorado’s goal came off that highly suspect PK.

Once again:

Union – 1
Colorado – 0
Refs – 1

If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.

wasted so much time on that corner kick and then just kicked it to the other side of the field to end the game..all said and done wasnt the best game for the union (got lucky on some headers) but ill take the 1-1 draw on the road.

Nowak was once again too conservative at the end of a game.

Foolish move to put in Miglioranzi, who is worse at defending than Daniel.

I thought that was a legit penalty on Califf. Hand was on the player’s shoulder, the player tried to turn, and Califf’s hand stopped him. It was probably embellished, but Califf can’t grab another player’s shoulder like that. Good result in the end though. Can we see Mwanga and Mac up top and Le Toux as far from the pitch as possible? I’m tired of hearing “as long as he keeps trying hard, he’ll get that goal”. Clearly not.

Migz stinks and so does LeToux
