TV ratings for first 3 games double 2010 figures
Through three local broadcasts in 2011 – two on 6abc and one on The Comcast Network – the Union are averaging a 1.0 overnight rating, a 100 percent increase. For reference, a 1.0 HH (HH stands for household) is equivalent to approximately 30,000 households, each of which is estimated to contain 2.3 viewers.

Great news
The numbers may still be relatively small, but I’ll take it. Hopefully they’ll continue to increase as the season goes on. It’ll be very interesting to see the ABC numbers to the CSN/TCN numbers as we get a larger sample size, as well.
Those are absolutely outstanding numbers. Far and away better than what I would have expected. Even the .5 average last season for their first three local telecasts are much better than I would have expected. I can’t say enough about how impressive those numbers are. For reference, the Sixers averaged a 1.24 rating on Comcast SportsNet last season (their ratings are, not surprisingly, a good deal higher this season). I doubt the Union will continue to average a 1.0 throughout the season for their local telecasts, and unless they go up even further, I doubt they’ll announce further ratings information, but it’s nice to get at least a reference point for what they’re looking at.
