Major League Soccer fans looking for more ways to keep track of their favorite teams and players are in luck, as the league released a new mobile app today called MLS Matchday 2011.
The app is available on most iOS platforms including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. A version has also been released for Android phones. A similar app was available last year, and is currently the highest-rated sports app in the iTunes App Store.
Fans will be able to use the app to follow games with real-time updates, as well as view highlights moments after they occur. In addition, videos such as The Daily and AT&T Goal of the Week will be viewable using the new app.
iPad owners who also subscribe to MLS's season-long game streaming subscription service will be able to watch live MLS games on the go. Apple TV owners who also possess an iOS device will be able to stream these live games to their television as well with the use of Apple's new AirPlay program. iPad owners will also be able to view MLS news and features in a new newspaper format.
iOS users can follow this link to download the new app. Android owners should point their browsers here.
