Call me a Nerd...
But Taylor Twellman and Adrian Healy are easily my 2 most favorite commentators for all things soccer. Twellman because he un-ashamedly voices his opinion which is refreshing compared to the PC commentating world nowadays; and Adrian Healy because I love the accent and the Euro-isms that you can’t get anywhere else in America… I’m feeling good tonight for the U!

They’re going for it right from the start, no doubt about that.

I've updated the page with both teams' starting line-ups and benches.
Houston’s starting XI are the same as last game. As Ben mentioned, Union are going to go hard offensively.

Not a fan of the lineup
When they play the 3 strikers together, one inevitably gets caught doing nothing in the midfield. I’d rather see Torres instead of Mwanga or Mac.
I guess as long as McInerney isn’t in the midfield I’m ok with the lineup. Though if it doesn’t work, Peter better be going to his bench for Torres or Adu at halftime. I still would’ve rather seen Mwanga as a sub. He hasn’t really deserved to start in months.
I expect a great game and hopefully we’re more composed than Seattle was last night.
Yeah, I don’t like how this is set up.

Is there no away goal rule?
Nope. No away goal rule. MLS is different.

Lucky I did not post it in the Dynamo Theory thread by mistake. They might think I was trolling. :(

Farfans
I usually love the Farfans, but I have to say…neither one of them is having a very good game so far.

The more I watch the replay of that goal
The more I despise our set piece marking. Awful.

You and I
need to become friends. I’m a Houston fan and you said something perfectly that any of us over at DT would’ve said. I was at the game with a couple of the guys who comment as well and when we heard the announcement that Watson was coming in to the game all 3 of us buried our heads in our hands. If ever you guys were gifted with an opening, he was it
It was thanks to you and DT that I was first alerted about him
But I did notice how bad he was watching this series.
On the other side of things, it must have been nice being on the other side and watching Peter Nowak make a mess out of his tactics.

Hey
we’re nothing if not honest and self-aware. I’ll be Forever Orange but we just call it like we see it. There’s a running joke that Watson is our poor man’s answer to Carlos Tevez: he does have flashes of brilliance and could honestly be a game-changer, but he turns around and does the dumbest, most mind-boggling sh** sometimes that just drives us batty. He’ll either make a play of the week or get sent off.
Well, a few of us don’t like Nowak but that aside, its just a shame for you guys as fans because honestly, I see alot in your team that we have here in Houston in regards to talent; in fact, one could almost say they had somewhat parallel story lines, only in our case we brought in someone who completely changed things (Camargo, as he has helped calm and control the midfield plus allow Cameron to move back to D where he belongs) whilst you guys lost someone (Ruiz) who might’ve been the difference-maker for you. Unfortunately, Nowak was absolutely dreadful, and particularly in this series. He chased his own tail, tactically speaking, and then threw his players under the bus. I don’t know where you guys stand on his position next season – honestly, I could see you giving him a chance to redeem next season but could also see him getting the sack – but you guys are a player (or two?) away from being the team no one wants to face in the East. Aside from us :)
Peter Nowak has done quite a few things to irk me this year
I have not made up my mind whether I want a 3rd year of him or not. This series was not the first time he out-smarted himself tactically speaking this year but at the same time they did take a massive leap from last season this season. How much of that was because of Nowak or the players succeeding in spite of Nowak I do not know.

That was difficult to watch

Tough loss.
But I can’t let it take anything away from an outstanding season that saw the Union rise from the bottom to the top. Can’t wait for next season.
