It appears that Jorge Perlaza has worked out his dual contract situation with club Deportes Tolima.
El Colombiano has listed Perlaza as one of Tolima's outgoing players in its list of transfers in and out of each club in the Colombian top league (Copa Mustang). This would indicate that Perlaza is set to move out of Colombia and to either MLS or to Europe, the two places he's been rumored to be heading.
The Union currently sport Ryan Richter, Sebastien Le Toux, Danny Mwanga, Jack McInerney, Levi Houapeu and Nick Zimmerman as players who are able to play in a forward role. Le Toux is single one of that list older than 24, with Mwanga and McInerney as the only two others with any significant experience (both will be MLS sophomores).
Here's the contract situation as we reported last week:
The 25-year-old Perlaza is in the midst of a battle with his current club, Deportes Tolima in the Colombian top league (Copa Mustang). According to reports out of the Colombian media, Perlaza entered into two contracts at the same time with Tolima. His original contract was due to run out on December 31, 2010 but he signed another contract during his original contract, one that runs out in 2013.
Because of his confusing contract situation, the Union may have begun to look at other overseas attack options. Fellow Colombian international striker Cesar Arias is now linked to the Union, as well.
