From Editor Scott K.: Front page'd. It's about time we had an SoBer write something on here. Keep 'em coming.
Well, I've been talking with Scott K for a while now, so I figured I'd start writing, it was bound to happen at some point. Today, on philly.com there was an article about how beautiful PPL park is but how its stained by the language and acts of the Sons of Ben. Here's the link for it. Basically, to sum it up for ya, the Sally Do-gooders, and soccer moms - who attend matches know nothing about the spirit of the game and how the fans have a giant impact on the outcome of the match- are still complaining about 'foul language' ringing throughout our beautiful park.
Please. You complained once, the Sob leaders sat down with the FO and the language has been toned down. If you don't like it, take your kids soccer team to a Kixx game. I tried to post a comment on that article a number of times and it failed to load. We are a Philly team, so why does the media keep bashing us? I guess that's what you need to write about, so you can get off on how many clicks and comments you received for your shit of a post. So they turn to continuing to rant about how negative we are, when in reality we are actually a very positive group.
Of course they didn't write about how we paid tribute to those who had fallen on 9/11 by singing 'God Bless America' at the 9 minute and 11 second mark of the match, or about how we helped organized Help Kick Hunger (food raiser for those in need in Chester county). Of course not, probably because they weren't at that match, unlike us who have been there to support our boys in the blue and gold week in and week out. C'mon on Philly! Get behind the good things of your city, instead of making us out to be a bunch of hooligans.
