Bumped from FanPosts. Thanks danielfarrell!
Living in Richmond I got the chance to watch the Richmond Kickers vs Harrisburg City Islanders game tonight and watch two of our boys(Stahl and Salinas) play.
Stahl played central defense and played a decent game. He seemed to not be totally focused right at the beginning but quickly got past that. He seems to play a lot of balls with a finesse touch that you don't normally see from defenders, probably comes from playing a lot of midfield in college. There were a few times I wanted him to blast a clearance and instead he played the ball to a teammate nearby that felt a little dangerous.
Salinas played well and was dangerous throughout most of the game. He showed good pace, control and passing. He created a number of chances pretty much singlehandedly. But this is USL2 level so he was mostly creating for guys who couldn't finish them. He had a 1 person fanclub that was entertaining to see. A young lady was sitting in the front row in his Union jersey with a sign that said Salinas FanClub. I saw him acknowledge her at halftime which was nice.
They both stood out as more talented than those around them which is how it should have been. Good showing and hopefully a warm-up for being able to contribute to wins for the Union in the near future!
And I know the article I read said J.T. Noone was going with them but he didn't play tonight.
