Same with me. I could never get into MLS without a Philly team.
Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor".
I had adopted DC for awhile in the 90s. Feels so good to be wearing a soccer jersey with Philadelphia on it.

Yeah, I tried that for about a year but I couldn’t stick with it. Much easier with a team to call our own now.

Came right here from the Eagles blog.
I could never really get into soccer…probably because of the lack of a Philly team. Well, I’m going to watch tonight and see if I like it.
Oh, and the New York Red Bulls? They really advertise that blatantly?

Absolutely, it just looks tacky with a giant advert on the front like that. I know it’s common in the MLS but it looks much better without them. It looks like they are playing the “XBOX 360s” and not the Sounders.

Was only able to get watching around the 25th minute. I was happy to see us holding our own but the second goal is a real let-down. My eyes aren’t (yet) as tuned to soccer as they are to hockey, and I apologize if this was asked earlier, but should Seitz have had that first goal? Looked like on the few replays I’ve seen that he’s been right there. Was he partially screened?

I wonder sometimes if that isn’t on purpose. Snider wants the casual fan to see more Sixers, since they won’t go looking for info, and I think he also doesn’t want the Flyers to feel as though they’re under as much media pressure, etc. as maybe they should be in a large hockey market.

There are some positives to take out of tonight, certainly. One thing Nowak needs to do is to get on his guys to cut out the dumb challenges (I’m looking at you, Toni Stahl), but maybe it was just nerves.
Onward and upward, boys!
Stahl does deserve the b-slap of the game award. Nerves or no, his sendoff still means the Union still don’t really know what kind of team they have. There’s definitely a baseline aggressiveness, but it might be overstated given that they had to challenge so much defensively.

Yeah, he really wasn’t holding back on the Union. I mean, they’re not going to win the MLS Cup, but he’s making it sound like the team’s going to go 0-30-0.

Well, not quite the way I would have hoped for it to go but not too bad.
Defense came unraveled and the offense just was not imposing enough.
Really impressed with Roger Torres and Alejandro Moreno.

Jack Mac looked good in the few minutes he saw as well.
"I did my walk of shame this morning and everyone was so much nicer," she said. "People were inviting me to parties at 9 a.m."
Really unimpressed with the Costa Rican Myrie. He got turned inside out on the Sounders first goal. He was chasing the play the entire time and could not contain at all. Very frustrating.
